Dedicated to the musical, social, and character development of girls, the La Crosse Girlchoir is a community singing group for girls ages 7 to 17 from the Coulee Region. Auditions are held each September and January and rehearsals are most Tuesdays during the school year.


La Crosse Youth Symphony Orchestra

Young musicians from 5th to 12th grade audition for this orchestra based on musical ability. Instruments include violin, viola, cello, bass, flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, French horn, trumpet, trombone, tuba, and percussion.

The Fine Arts Center offers a variety of performances for all ages, as well as camps and workshops for children, including Camp Creative each June for ages 5 to 11. Our annual workshop with Missoula Children's Theatre offers performance opportunities for children of all ages. In addition, our Arts for Young America series features family performances all season.

Appleseed Community Theatre

Every summer, ACT performs a musical with a large cast including many children. Auditions are in May. In August, ACT hosts a three-week kids camp that performs a musical at the end. ACT's January show always correlates with a children's book to encourage kids to read; this year, it’s Junie B. Jones.
