Best Deals Around Town

In our article, “10 Deals Around Town,” we asked you to send us your favorite deals so we could add to the list.

Here is the running list, including a few more of our staff additions:

Woodman’s Food Market on State Road 16 in Onalaska is a well-known destination for families. One of our staff members estimates that she saves 20 to 30 percent on groceries and other items throughout the store.

U-Bake on 4308 Mormon Coulee Road in La Crosse is filled with goodies you take home and bake for reasonable prices. One of our staff members likes the two dozen unfrosted cupcakes for $1.99. These specials do vary, so stop in to check out the latest deals.

Rummage sales. Many of us spend our weekends finding treasures at rummage sales. One of our staff members says that to her child a used toy that costs 25 cents to a few dollars is a “new” toy and can provide many happy hours. She also says that shopping rummage sales can mean dressing one child for a year for about $100.

Gaming Generations at 714 La Crosse St. kept one staff member’s children busy all summer. They enjoyed buying, selling, and trading used games and game systems. The business also resurfaces scratched CDs or DVDs, etc., extending the usable life of what you already have.
